Background
University of British Columbia
The conceptual framework underpinning the design of Good Energy originated at the Institute for Resources, Environment, and Sustainability (IRES) at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, Canada. IRES is a globally recognized, multi-disciplinary sustainability think-tank, where cutting edge research on the interface and interaction of human and natural systems occurs.
Vancity Credit Union
In 2007, Vancity Credit Union (an international leader in corporate responsibility) piloted a sophisticated online behavior change tool with their employees. The tool was called Cut the Carbon, and was a huge internal success. Good Energy founder Jeremy Osborn was a lead on the project, and the experience was inspirational and foundational to the development of Good Energy.
